A message from Mr Graham

As another academic year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on our shared successes, celebrate our incredible community, and express my gratitude to everyone who makes our school such a special place.

A special mention must go to our fantastic Year 6 leavers. Watching these children grow from Reception into the thoughtful, resilient, and compassionate young people they are today has been a real privilege. They have consistently demonstrated our core values – respect, compassion, creativity, perseverance and service – both in and out of the classroom. Thank you to all Year 6 parents for your partnership and support throughout this journey.

This year, our pupils have enjoyed a wealth of opportunities that have helped enrich their knowledge, skills and experiences. From exciting residentials from Year Two to Year Six, to memorable trips and visitors. From over forty-four sports fixtures and tournaments in a range of sports, to exciting extra-curricular opportunities, the children have had countless opportunities to learn, shine, and showcase their abilities!

It has been wonderful every day, to walk around school, where I have had the opportunity to chat to children, staff, parents, governors, visitors and volunteers – all of whom make our school such a special place to be part of. It is this collaboration and partnership – along with a deep-rooted mutual respect for each other, which ensures that we continue to have such a positive and supportive culture where the children come first.

To all our children – your friendship, outstanding behaviour, positive attitudes, and enthusiasm for school are truly inspiring. The energy and smiles you bring to the school gate each morning make every day a joy.

This year’s SIAMS report, only released last week, reflects our school’s character and strengths. I would like to share a few quotes that truly capture our wonderful culture:

‘Willaston is an inspirational school environment where pupils and adults flourish.’

‘Inspired by the Christian vision, pupils flourish through inclusive, creative and ambitious learning that nurtures dignity, confidence, and personal growth.’

‘Kindness is the heartbeat of Willaston and is lived daily in words, actions and relationships.’

‘Pupils and adults treat each other with compassion, creating a community where individuals feel safe, seen, and valued. Pupils are happy and confident, knowing their voices are heard.’

Looking ahead, we remain ambitious for every child and for our school community as a whole. I am excited about the new academic year and all that we will achieve together.

But until then…I wish you all a restful, safe, and enjoyable summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 2nd September.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support.
