I am the School Business Manager at Willaston CE Primary School, having joined the school some 29 years ago as a Clerical Assistant. During this time I have seen many changes in education and the responsibilities that the school has to undertake. Throughout these years the performance and ability of the school to support and educate all pupils to their fullest potential has consistently been of the highest standards. I became a member of the governing body in 1999 when I was elected as non-teaching staff governor. Recently reconstitution of the governing body meant that staff governor positions were reduced to one and I was re-elected as a co-opted governor. My knowledge of the school and historical processes and changes have helped me in my role as a governor, providing me with a sound knowledge of how the school operates and past experiences help with advice I am able to give with regard to on-going day-to-day processes. I am a member of the Staffing and Finance Committee and fulfil the role of the Health and Safety governor.

It has been a privilege to be Headteacher at Willaston CE Primary School for the past ten years. Working every day with engaging children, dedicated, passionate and hard working professionals and a team of committed and talented Governors is incredibly rewarding. I have spent the whole of my career in the teaching profession working in four different schools predominantly in school leadership. I believe that every child deserves the very best education we can provide. Every area of the curriculum is important and it is our responsibility to encourage every child to be the best they can be. It is a pleasure to lead Willaston's great team.

I am 71 years old, and was educated at Willaston Primary School, as were my son and daughter, and now my Grandson Jack. The school was good then, and although much has changed, remains a wonderful place for education. The school is an integral part of the village and I see my role as a close link within the community. I am a member of the Community Committee and find my links with the Residents and Countryside Society are very useful in regard to village/school involvement.

I have two children, both of whom are pupils at Willaston CE Primary School.

Whilst success is often measured at an academic level, I believe that there is an equally great importance to inspire and nurture our children's understanding of caring and kindness, friendship, the environment, music, creativity and sport.

I am devoted to supporting the school to ensure that it is run efficiently, and every child enjoys the best possible education.

I am friendly, approachable and committed to building on the continued success of our school.

I am delighted to have been appointed Chair of Governors for Willaston School. We have experienced members on the governing team, who are here to support the children, parents and teachers. Many of the governors have children who attend Willaston and value the importance of working together to meet the best educational outcomes for all the children.

I have been a parent governor for over 2 years. I have two children at Willaston and one child who left in 2014. As a parent, I know how important primary school years are and like you, want the best for the children.

I will strive to ensure any comments, queries and aspirations regarding your child's education are heard with a commitment to shared values and collaboration between parents, governors and teachers. I look forward to representing you and all of the children of Willaston Primary School.

I am a member of the Standards and Performance Committee and have been SENCo at Willaston CE Primary School for the past twelve years supporting children and their families through the primary school journey. I have recently achieved a postgraduate certificate from Edge Hill University for the National Award in SEN Co-ordination. Through these studies I have become very interested in further developing my knowledge of the role of a governor in school.

On a personal note, I am also keen to support the community side of the governing body as my grandparents moved to the village of Willaston from Essex in 1947 to start a local family business and my father is an ex-pupil of the school.
